Well to be honest, plenty! Which we’ll get to in a minute, but first we have to do something right now, and that’s thanking you for your support. Because of you, Blackweekly.com continues to be the preferred website for over 22,000 progressive African Americans in the Greater Los Angeles area. To honor your support, we’ve been hard at work redesigning and improving our website.

To better serve you, we are proud to announce the relaunch of Blackweekly.com. Check out our makeover, complete with new features, content, and improved navigation.

As a true community based website, Blackweekly.com’s mission has always been keeping you connected, on and off-line. To help facilitate open communication on-line among our members, we have added a Community Forum and Chat Room. Now, you can communicate with our columnists and other Blackweekly.com members, to share your thoughts and ideas. You can even schedule a Community Chat Room session, where other members can be invited to join an on-line discussion on topics of your choice.

Over the last five years, we have received hundreds of requests for advertising placement on our website and emails. We have declined these requests in the past, because our focus was and will always be, "providing you with the best website possible" and not selling flashing banner ads. Our new design accomplishes this goal while allowing business owners to expose their products and services to our members. Visit our "About Us" section for advertising rates. We've also included a new rating system "BE" or Blackweekly Endorsed. Which means we've been there, done that, seen the goods, and checked them out.

What else have we done for you lately?

We've added six new monthly columns that we're really excited about and we’re sure you will be too.

The "Career Center", providing tips and resources for career management skills and diverse career opportunities. You can "Travel" twice a year with group trips for Blackweekly.com's "Jet-Setters", and back by popular demand is our "Restaurant" section that list's all the right spots to do some serious eating.

What we've done lately to Lead?

What we continue to do lately is stay out in front, as the preferred online destination for local, mature African-Americans. We were the 1st local website to offer custom designed e-blasts and our design standards and ideas have continued to be highly imitated but never truly duplicated due to our ever-evolving creativity and progressive thinking. Our branded black background, format, event of the week pop-up box, and ideas may appear on other websites but remember, the true "Power of Black" can only be found at Blackweekly.com. If it's true that imitation is the best form of flattery, then we'd have to say we're completely flattered out.

How we've been different lately?

Lately? Well ...we've always been different! Blackweekly.com is built, on quality not quantity! We turn down over 65% of event postings and custom email requests. Information sent to our membership base is very targeted. We always conduct phone interviews or send a staff member to qualify events by new promoters. Due to this process, you will always see more listings on other websites. Our goal isn't to have as many names in our database as we can. We service discriminating professionals who are looking for only the best that Los Angeles has to offer. We are also very selective about the events and services we advertise. If you receive an email from Blackweekly.com..., it's a quality event! No need to give it a second thought!

So please, check out the new website and rest assured, you won't have to worry about what we've done for you lately, you'll see it every time you're there!
