On Wednesday, June 16th, the Skirball Cultural Center is proud to present Cuban pianist/composer and Grammy Award nominee Omar Sosa. Sosa is a creative visionary whose impressionistic music encompasses cha-cha grooves, Monkish phrases, Yoruban chants, hip-hop beats and rhapsodic melodies. He brings the economy of Thelonious Monk and the melodic richness of Keith Jerrett to the rhythmic power of Afro-Cuban music. Sosa will perform with percussionist Miguel "Anga" Diaz and acoustic bassist Geoff Brennen.
