Wisdom Wednesdays Writing Workshop
The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival presents the Wisdom Wednesdays Writing Workshop. From January 29 through March 19, 2003, participants will develop solo performance works for presentation on March 24 as part of the Festival’s Milestone Mondays series. Acclaimed solo performer Iona Morris conducts the workshop. Workshop sessions will be from 7-10pm on Wednesdays at Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street, in downtown Los Angeles. Drumming in the New Year

Directing for Actors/Acting for Directors Lab
Come and work with talented actors -- develop your craft and build your skills. Approach your work with the techniques that excellent directors use. This is the lab developed by Michael Clark Haney, Harvard University, Artist in Residence. During recent sessions of the "Directing for Actors/Acting for Directors" Lab, explored -- expectation, reality, perception, fear, desire, arc, obligatory moments, and challenges. These are all powerful concepts that give us insight into character and help to create exciting, living choices. Other topics to be covered -- how to use auditions to cast the best actors; turning monologues into active dialogues; using props to build character and tell the story; blocking the actors in ways that support and expand on the story; and much, much more. The Lab meet Wednesday nights at 7:30pm at the Laurelgrove Theatre in Studio City.
